At Tourer-Tek Caravans, we offer both workshop based repairs as well as a fully mobile service which can help free up your valuable time or your caravan or trailer may be un-roadworthy or illegal to tow. You can have your caravan or trailer serviced or repaired at your choice of location or you can bring it to us.

Running Gear

Brakes & Hub Assembly
  • Check condition of brakeaway cable and if routed correctly
  • Check condition of brake rods, linkages and Bowden cables
  • Check condition of wheel bearings, brake drums and brake linings. Clean and lubricate
  • Replace brake drums using new hub nut and torque to manufacturer settings.
  • Adust brakes and check for free play on linkage
Wheels & Tyres
  • Remove wheels and check rims for any sign of damage
  • Check condition of tyres for excessive wear, date of tyre and pressure, adjusting pressure if neseccary.
  • Replace wheels and torque to manufacturer settings. 

Chassis

Drawbar assembly
  • Check coupling head,Safety catch & lubricate if required
  • Overrun - actuation & recoil, check attachment to A-frame
  • Check and clean pads on ball acting stabiliser
  • Check operation of over-run piston and lubricate
  • Jockey wheel security & lubricate
Chassis & Suspension
  • Visually inspect and check operation of suspension assembly.
  • Check chassis bolt security (Record torque) and body attachment
  • Visually check wheel box for abrasions
  • Check operation of spare wheel carrier and lubricate
Road Lights
  • Check condition of plugs and cables
  • Check condition of lenses
  • Check operation of all lights
